These are some of the popular engine choices for the J4B, J4B2, and BRC 540 gyroplanes.
Subaru has higher horsepower to weight and horsepower to fuel consumption ratios. The Subaru auto altitude compensates. These engines were designed in the 90's and thereby taken advantage of features such as dual over head cams, distributor-less ignition, computer micro adjusting and electronic fuel injection.
